If you choose to connect Google Calendar, Slate requests access only to the Google data needed to provide the calendar features you enable:
Slate uses Google data only to provide and improve the user-facing calendar connection you request. This includes showing which Google account is connected, calculating available appointment times, mirroring Slate appointments to Google Calendar, and synchronizing user-initiated reschedules or cancellations back to Slate. Slate does not use Google Calendar data for advertising, credit decisions, data brokerage, or training generalized artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.
Slate stores your Google Account email address, encrypted OAuth tokens, calendar synchronization cursors and channel metadata, and the identifiers and timestamps needed to maintain Slate-managed appointment events. OAuth tokens are encrypted at rest and access is limited to systems and personnel who need it to operate or secure the feature. Slate processes free/busy intervals and calendar synchronization responses but does not persist the titles, descriptions, attendees, or contents of unrelated Google Calendar events. When you disconnect Google Calendar, Slate revokes access where Google permits and deletes the stored OAuth connection and tokens. Appointment and account records otherwise follow the retention terms in Section 5.
Slate does not sell Google user data or transfer it to advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers. Slate may transfer Google user data to service providers only as necessary to provide or secure the user-facing calendar feature, with your consent, and under confidentiality and data-protection obligations. Slate personnel do not read Google user data unless you affirmatively authorize access to specific data, access is necessary for security or abuse investigation, access is required by applicable law, or the data has been aggregated and de-identified for lawful internal operations.
Connecting Google Calendar is optional and requires your explicit Google authorization. You can disconnect the integration in Slate's Calendar settings or revoke Slate from your Google Account permissions. Disconnecting stops future access and synchronization; Google Calendar events already created in your account remain under your control.
Slate's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
